Spanish 1-one year (1 credit per semester)

Grade availability:  9--12 
 
In this  course, Spanish  is introduced incorporating activities that emphasize  the basic skills of reading, writing and speaking the language. Culture of Spanish-speaking countries in also studied. A passable grade first semester is required to continue into second semester.
 
Spanish 2 -  one year ( 1 credit per semester)

Prerequisites: Spanish 1
 
Grade availability: 10-12
 
This course is open to all students who have successfully completed Spanish 1. This course involves a continuation and elaboration of the basics learned in Spanish 1. The students are involved in speaking, writing and reading activities. Culture is also continued. A passable grade first semester is required to continue into second semester.
 
Spanish 3-  One year ( one credit per semester)

Prerequisites: Spanish 1 and 2
 
Grade availability:11 and 12
 
This course is open to all students who have successfully completed two years of Spanish. This course focuses on communication projects, both oral and written.This class is a project-oriented class. Spanish 3 continues the study of the language elaborating on the concepts learned in Spanish 1 and  Spanish 2. Culture is also continued. A passable grade first semester is required to continue into second semester.



Spanish 4--One year ( one credit per semester)

Prerequisites: Spanish 1, 2, and 3
 
Grade availability:  12
 
This course is for students who have successfully completed three years of Spanish. It continues the project-oriented activities from Spanish with the emphasis on group work. Increased awareness of the use of Spanish within our culture and other cultures is studied. A passable grade first semester is required to continue into second semester.
